The Five Conditions Of Blessing & The Jealous God

Deut 28:9-10
9 "The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. 10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. NKJV
If you look at religion in the world, ‘a system of beliefs’ according to the dictionary, you will see people trying to work their way to heaven. Most are looking for a ticket to paradise. They are missing the complete point.
We are not trying to work our way into heaven. We are developing our personal relationship with the Father of all creation, the only perfect being in existence; pure power, light, and love. As you read in Deuteronomy and throughout the Word of God, it is not just about repenting and turning to Jesus so you can get a ticket to heaven. It’s not just about going to church and singing songs or hearing a great message. Nor is it just about fellowing with other people who know Him. It is all about knowing Him! He wants to know you.
As you read in Deuteronomy you can see some common themes in how to have a successful and deep relationship with God. Here are 5 points that we must all remember all the time.
- Listen faithfully to God’s voice- Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. Get filled with the Holy Spirit and make sure you are sensitive to Him guiding your spirit.
- Observe and do all His commandments- Base your life on the Word of God not on how you feel or what you see. If you know His Word, you know His ways.
- Walk In His Ways- Being a believer is not an award, it is a lifestyle. You do it everyday. What you say, how you act, where you go... it all shows if you are in The Way or not.
- Don’t get side-tracked to the left or right- It comes at us from all sides, television, internet, mobile communications... distraction is the way the enemy will try to take you away from God. Keep going straight ahead with God and you will go higher
- Don’t go after any other ‘gods’- There is nothing that compares to God. He is bigger than anything. But sometimes, we allow these distractions to become bigger than God in our own lives. People do it with cars, boats, a sweetheart they’re ‘dating’, money, business... these distractions become so important to them that they lose site of God and fail to hear His voice.
Our Father is a jealous God. He says so Himself. Exodus 20:5
5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, NKJV
We can westernize things a bit and say not to let things come before God (as these things can become ‘gods’ to us, and this is true). However, if you have been to Asia you see idols all over the place. You see shrines, temples, god shelves, and all sorts of other things where people pray to some god or dead relative. You see shrines and temples sprinkled throughout Japan, shrines in front of houses in Indonesia, and temples throughout out Thailand. Before God these things are wrong. They are evil. If you have power or ownership over these things I should do what the kings of Israel did. They tore them down and it pleased God.
If you don’t have ownership or authority of the physical property, then you take it to the spiritual side. You should curse it to be unproductive and bind the demonic powers behind it.
Matthew 16:19
And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." NKJV
God is not looking for your money, ritual, or tradition. He is looking for a free-will relationship with you, His child! Put your relationship with Him first thing today.

Who Blinked First?

John 9:2
And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" NKJV
Jesus healed many who were sick, raised the dead, helped all those who wanted freedom from the oppression of the enemy, and was the world’s best teacher. He challenges us to do even greater works than what He did while He was on the earth. Not only did he challenge us, He told us we could do it. He said it Himself in John 14:12 where He said,
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”NKJV
King Jesus endowed us with that same power and authority that He operated in while He was here. That means you can pray over the sick and watch them recover, free people from the demonic in Jesus’ Name, pray and see miraculous signs and wonders, and even raise the dead. I know believers who have done all of this by faith and the Name of Jesus.
As humans away from God, many people are always looking for someone to blame. They are always looking to get ‘one more’ than their neighbor. Some people are so competitive that they forget to love people. I know runners that are so busy running that they form their whole family’s life around their running. I know shoppers that are so in to shopping that they drag their spouse with them all over the place, just to get the latest deal. It is great to be competitive and motivated, but we need to make sure we are loving people and not just trying to fulfill our desires or our so-called reputation.
It seems politics in any country has people always trying to find a weakness in their political opponent. I often joke, “Yes, we have a major international problem, our politicians.” Search the world over and you see it is like children playing the game of “who blinked first”, where they see how long they can stare at the other kid without blinking their eyes.
Here in John 9:2, we see people haven’t really changed since we were first created. (Remember, Adam blamed Eve for his sin?). A blind man came to Jesus for healing to receive his sight. The close friends of our Lord (disciples) asked King Jesus why he was blind. Was he blind because of something He did or something his parents did. Why must someone be blamed for this infirmity?
Jesus answered that it was neither. You see, we live on a fallen earth. It is no longer the perfect place that started as a tropic paradise. The garden was destroyed and the flood came and wiped the earth clean of both human life, and some believe it eliminated a protective layer of clouds that protected the earth and enabled humans to live much longer. Now, we have famine, wars, pestilence, disease, robbery, children born with birth defects, and all sorts of other bad (and very sad) things going on. Why do we have all these horrible things going on?
Horrible things happen because we lost what God had originally created for Adam and Eve. Furthermore, we are not managing what God had entrusted to us. In the meantime, the enemy is trying to control everyone and steal, kill, and destroy, so that we will be eternally separated from the Father God.
Jesus explained that this man was not born blind because of the sins of his parents (although we must eat right to birth healthy babies), nor was he born blind because of something he did. Jesus turned it around and said that he was born blind so that God could be glorified (he was going to be healed). Jesus turned the negative into a positive. He turned the disability into an opportunity.
Notice that healing glorifies God. I have heard people say healing is a thing of the New Testament and of the past. My response to them is, “We are living in the New Testament right now, who said it was finished? King Jesus told us we would be doing greater works than he did, what are you doing?”
Stay out of the blame game. Focus on glorifying Him, step out in faith according to the Word, and watch the signs and wonders flow.

Your Light To The World

Isaiah 58:10
If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your darkness shall be as the noonday. NKJV
It feels so good to be a blessing to others. At church, we have broken this Dark Ages deception that poverty is next to godliness. It’s not. Poverty is a lie of the enemy because the demons just want to oppress you. They want to get you tied up in some sin and their ultimate goal is to kill you. If you are stuck in poverty you are limited. It is not God’s way. He wants to bless you. He wants you to have the very best that you can handle. He wants you to have the best so that you can be a blessing to those around you.
In 1992, I started to discover God’s financial plan for me. I discovered that He wanted me overflowing with His goodness so that I could overflow on others. As I began to understand what God’s Word said about His people, I began to have a revelation of His goodness. My relationship deepened with Him and I began to see how He sees people. Whether it be the bum in the gutter, or the atheist in the executive office.
We are all here for a short amount of time. We are here only for 120 years maximum (if we take good care of our bodies by eating natural foods (not processed), and exercising our complete self mentally and physically). In that time we have, we can leave a legacy, we can leave nothing (soon be forgotten), and we can leave a mess. I want to leave a legacy. I want people to see what I did and say, “Did you see Jesus in that guy?” One way to leave a legacy is shared by Isaiah.
In Isaiah 58:10, it says if we share our soul. Do you remember the Bible teaches us that we are a spirit-being with three distinct parts? We are a spirit, we have a soul, and we live in a body (1 Thess 5:23). Furthermore, our soul area is our mind, our will, and our emotions. Therefore, when you read Isaiah 58 and it says when we extend our “soul” to the hungry. With this insight, I see that when we extend our mind (thoughts), our will, and our emotions; that means we put our “heart” into it helping others (in this case the poor and emotionally disturbed), then we are glorifying God. We are leaving that legacy of light for the coming generations.
When they see the Holy Spirit on you and the love in your heart, they will know you are sharing God’s goodness. Glorify His Name by being a blessings to others! You are a light to the world.

How God Protects His People

Isaiah 54:17
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn. NKJV
Living in a fallen world, life can be somewhat scary. There are people that want to take what you have, there are others who want to get you to do something wrong, and there are even those who want to kill you just for the thrill of it. The root of this evil is the enemy. That is why we as believers need to make sure we stay uncorrupted in this very corrupt world we live in. No one is perfect, but as a believer when you mess up (or sin) then you should go to God immediately and ask for forgiveness. Our God forgives us. There is nothing like that.
Believers need to keep themselves pure and holy before our God and be a good example to the unbelievers around us. As we stay in tune with God, you’ll see things start to happen in your lives. We understand what God wants us to be doing. We understand why we are where we are, and how He is working through us. One of the best examples of Yahweh’s goodness to His people is His protection. Being a believer is not just about something spiritual. As a believer, Psalm 91 promises that God will put His angels around us to surround us and keep us from evil. God wants to protect you from physical harm and He also wants to protect us against things that come against us that are anti-Christ.
In my business, we deal with many different types of people. The majority of people are wonderful to deal with, but we do have people lie about all sorts of things from time to time. There was an American president of a company that we dealt with that was very shifty. He would say one thing, then a day, an hour, sometimes minutes later he would say he did not say or promise what he had just promised. He purchased things from our company, then said he was not going to pay because it was not what he asked for. That’s after using it for a month! If you are going to use a copy machine or printer for a month, then say it is not what you ordered, that is dishonest (as the distributor can’t put a used machine back in stock).
Rather than helping the sales person to fight for the order, we decided we better get praying. The Word is clear that most of our fight is not against human personalities. Check out Ephesians 6:12-13 which says,
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. NKJV
As believers, we have to be praying before we start fighting. God wants to fight our battles for us, but we have to engage Him then the angels will not be working on our behalf. If you pray, things will happen. If you do not pray, then nothing will happen. As long as you are in this world, you have to fight, you have to stand. You have to take up God’s spiritual armor and protect yourself. Check out Ephesians 6 for more.
So we prayed regarding this company president trying to cheat us. We stood against the lying and stealing spirits and bound them in the Name of Jesus. Guess what? Just out of the blue, the guy authorized the payment. We didn’t have to fight for it. We just told him it was wrong, and God fought our battle. Later on, this difficult guy was removed from his company by his head office in New York. Very interesting.
The purpose of any business we do is for it to be blessed so that we can finance getting the Gospel and God’s goodness known around the world. If you cheat me, you are cheating the Father because it is all His stuff anyways. I will be a good steward with His things while I am on this earth, but everything we have is His resource. I have seen people come against us in business reassigned to other departments, have to leave the company unexpectedly, or even get fired. Why? If we are doing God’s will the enemy can not stand against you.
No weapon formed against me shall prosper! I confess this scripture over myself, my family, my church, my business; over everything 5-6 times a week. You should too.
Be a blessing to your church, your neighborhood, you city, your state, your nation, and your world. Leave a great legacy of faith and confess His Words over those around you every day.

How To Make Angels Happy

Luke 15:10
“Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." NKJV
I have seen, and see many miracles all the time. I have seen horrible weather disappear immediately, people healed of incurable diseases, deaf people receive their hearing, words of knowledge telling people exactly what they need (when nobody knew but the individual), crowds of people fall down as the presence of the Holy Spirit becomes so strong. God is awesome. All these things make me so happy. It is awesome, so awesome to see His love for us.
However, the most awesome thing I have ever seen is when someone turns to Jesus. I have seen it so many times and it is always so fresh and beautiful. As a minister, I have had the opportunity to pray with a few hundred people in my lifetime so far. We should not be afraid to tell people they need Jesus. I have seen people pray to start their relationship with God through Jesus, at church, at restaurants, at coffee shops, in airplanes, at airports, in cars, at the park, at home, in supermarkets, I have seen this almost everywhere and it is amazing.
King Jesus actually confirms that in Luke 15:10 when He is talking about the lost. He says even the angels get happy when they see people turning to God through Jesus. So do you want to know how to make angels happy? Tell someone about Jesus!
That’s right! When you tell someone about Jesus and they turn to Him, angels are celebrating. When I read the Word there in Luke, I better understood that it wasn’t just me that was bouncing away from that meeting, the “divine appointment” (time you meet someone looking for God), that person I met on the street that said “Yes” to receiving Jesus.
I grew up hearing people saying, “I will just show Jesus to people in how I live”. It is good but the hope was that someone would see how you live and ask “What is different about you?” will severely limit you. I have had people ask me, but I have never led anyone to Jesus through that or by just quietly being a good example in life. It is definitely good to have a good witness to unbelievers, but you will rarely lead anyone to Jesus if you don’t tell them.
When I left my home state in the US and started living abroad, I learned that I have to tell people about Jesus. We are His hands and His feet that have to get out there. We are His mouth on this earth for a time, and we have to tell them. I have told many people and although not all have made the right choice, I can never be judged for not telling them that without Jesus, they will be eternally separated from our good God. You should do the same. When you think about it, if we don’t tell people they need Jesus, who will?
Make a goal to make a difference. Pray for the opportunity to tell 3 people a week about Jesus. Even if only 1 person responds a week, that will be 52 people in one year! There will be a lot of very happy angels!

The God of Order
1 Cor 14:40
Let all things be done decently and in order. NKJV
God is the God of order. He ordered the universe. He set the stars in their orbits around the sun. I have walked into my children’s room after they have left for school and I have seen disorder. Unmade beds, clothing lying on the floor, dresser drawers unclosed and things just not where they should be. We have dealt with it, and now my children know that things need to be put back after use. They know that everything has its place. However, left to ourselves most of us tend to get lazy and just leave things that we don’t want to deal with. Yahweh is not like that.
On a Sunday, our church packed up everyone into four vans and went to the mountains. Our purpose was to give those who had not been baptized yet a chance to do what King Jesus has commanded us to do. We were able to find a destination that was a “prayer mountain” type of camp that was designed for believers. We all met at the church early that Sunday morning to get to this location that we had not been to before. Our purpose was baptism first and foremost, but we also wanted to sing praises to God a bit, be encouraged, have a BBQ, and play a bit of volleyball. We did our part and went got in those vans by faith.
When we arrived to the camp site, as a group we talked about what we were there to do. It worked out that we were able to use the small chapel on the grounds. There was a drumset, grand piano and a sound system that we were offered to use. So we used it. Four of our team did an amazing worship with no advance planning, we had a mini-message that the Holy Spirit gave to me while we were worshipping, and we stood prayed over, blessed, and agreed with the people who wanted to be baptized that day. Everything flowed so smoothly it was like it was planned.
The Holy Spirit reminded me that God is the God of order, not disorder. When He is involved in things, it just all comes together. That was a beautiful day. We had prayed away the coming rain the day before, a baby was healed of a bad cold, and we were able to celebrate the baptisms of three more great people. We had a wonderful time. God is SO good!
Do you feel like your life is in a shambles sometimes? Do you wonder why things are all over the place? Proverbs encourages us to roll our cares on to the Lord. What does that mean? Go to Yahweh with whatever you’ve got, and commit everything to Him in Jesus name and what seems like a mess is going to come together even better than before. You have to trust Him by faith and believe Him. Every time you think of that situation, just tell Him, “Thank you Father that you are working in that situation, and everything is coming together because you love me. Thank you!”
It is really amazing how our awesome God can take something that looks like it blew up and put it all back together. You want a perfect solution, commit your concerns to the perfect Being and He will make it come to pass.

The Danger of Debt

Deuteronomy 15:6
6 For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you. NKJV
When you are entering college there are various ways to finance that education. Those in American will have university students come into their school campuses to recruit them as students. Why are there university recruiters? Because they are selling their product, education. Education is a good thing but millions of Americans go into major debt because they take out loans to pay for those four years of schooling. Many graduate university with debts of 20, 30, even a 100,000 dollars. Probably not the best way to start your professional life.
God’s plan for His people is that they be blessed. There is nothing wrong with borrowing money, if you can afford to pay it back. However, the best way of thinking regarding loans is “If you don’t have the money to pay it back, don’t take it.” My wife and I built a house in 2007, we took a loan even though we had the cash to pay for the house. We found we could use our money more for our business and pay the loan back anytime we wanted. After 3 years, we paid it off in full. Praise God we are debt free.
God wants you to be debt free. Debt will limit you. If you do anything on an ‘impulse’ or as a splurge, then it is likely you will get in trouble. In Japan, until the recent past Kimono sales people would visit the homes of people. Many of the housewives are at home and the sales person proceeds to get them excited about buying a kimono dress. They are appealing and well-made, however the problem is that they are very expensive, in fact over-priced. The wife will get sold on the clothing and not have the budget to pay for the product without asking the husband about it. If the husband gets involved there is a chance that the sale will be killed. Therefore, the sales person usually then recommends they take a consumer loan (that has high interest rates) that she can pay back a little bit a time without the husband noticing. The wife is then strapped with a financial debt or burden she could have avoided if she wouldn’t have bought on impulse and discussed it with her husband rather than hiding the cost.
When you read on in the Word you see in Deuteronomy 28:12
The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. NKJV
When you borrow, you become servant to whom you have borrowed from. I know a guy who took over his father’s business in Asia. They manufacture parts for doors and windows. Most of this product has gone to China but apparently the company didn’t make quite make the transition from Japan production to China and racked up a $20m debt. That is a huge debt that caused the company to go bankrupt. The banks came to take everything from the company as well as him, since he was the personal cosigner for all of the loans. He stands to lose his house, car and all his savings. He may lose it all and not be able to even support his family. As a believer, you should avoid debt like you do a coughing person on the bus or train. Get away from it and avoid it.
Proverbs 22:7 says,
The rich rules over the poor,
And the borrower is servant to the lender. NKJV
I don’t want to be a servant to anyone other than my Messiah and God King Jesus. There is no reason for you to be a servant to anyone else either. Carefully consider your situation before you borrow anything from anyone with it is money, a tool, or something else. The most fundamental part of finances for the believer is to make sure you are faithfully tithing a tenth of your income to your church. Most believers I’ve met with financial difficulties tithe either irregularly, or not at all to the House of God. God multiplies what we put in. Remember Jesus with the loaves and the fish? He fed thousands with virtually nothing to start.
Be faithful with what you’ve got and God will multiple the finances, the properties, the business and everything else you set your hand to. You will be the lender and not the borrower.
Luke 6:35-36
35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. NKJV
